Eh, they could've done better...
Ramsey: 3 of 5 with a double and a stolen base for the Palm Beach Cardinals (Class A)
Boyd: 3 of 5 with two doubles, a triple, and 3 RBI's for the Brooklyn Cyclones (Class A)

Hahahaha, well more specifically, if only we could've had 1 or 2 of those hits by Boyd during the CWS. I can't get on him too much though, he gets a pass after that critical bunt he pulled off in game 3.

It was just a big drop off once you got past Rammer and Boyd. No offense to McGee because he was more of a 7/8 hitter with the sub 250 avg. Your #5 guy is your big rbi guy and he sets up the back half of the lineup. You really need someone who can hit >280 with more pop at the #5.

McGee batting 5th was probably my biggest complaint all year... a lot of folks would bring up how he had such a great OBP (which .428 is certainly good), but the thing is, he just had no power hitting. You really rely on your 4/5 hitters to have some tap behind their swing. Those are guys you need to get hits to drive in runs, not necessarily walks. (Speaking of which, McGee's SLG was .275 which was the worst of our lineup.) I really would have preferred Gonzo or Delph in the 5-hole.
Of course I mean no disrespect to McGee either, he's definitely proven to be good behind the dish, but he definitely should have been a 7/8 guy like you said.
