Here's an article with a little more info about Nevada trying to get out of their game with FSU next year. I really hope this game still happens or that they're replaced by someone as equally as unique/interesting. I like seeing far away teams, so I was really looking forward to this. If they do indeed succeed in getting out of it, we should take this as a lesson to stop scheduling teams from mountainous regions, as they all don't want to play us (Air Force, WV, NV...). Heck, even the Colorado game wasn't in Tally! Anyways, only thing I really don't like about this article is the woe-is-me attitude the Nevada associate AD takes: Now, with Nevada already having games against Oregon and UCLA on the 2013 non-conference schedule, the Wolf Pack is looking to drop the Florida State game.
“The density of playing three games like that in the first four weeks is pretty tough,” Hackett said.Well gee, if that's the case, then why did you ever schedule all those games? It's not like they were forced upon you... www.rgj.com/article/20120705/SPORTS06/307050040/Wolf-Pack-football-Florida-State-game-leaves-Nevada-1-2-million-decision
